Thousands of dyers are demonstrating in Kano against Chinese businesses importing fabrics.
They say that the Chinese are ruining their businesses by refusing to sell them the fabrics they dye and importing the finished dyed materials.
Last week, Nigeria’s customs officials arrested four Chinese people for allegedly smuggling textile materials. Their warehouses were taken over by the officials.
