Did you celebrate Rita Dominic last Saturday when the screen idol claimed to turn 40? Then you may just be guilty of one thing – ignorance. Well, that is what someone who claims to be her childhood friend is suggesting. On July 12, Rita Dominic was a year older. According to the Nollywood star, she hit the age of 40, and celebrated with a low key dinner abroad.
There are now reports that the star of The Meeting wasn’t truthful about her age. A source who was a primary school mate of Rita Dominic has revealed that she is 43 and not 40 as she claims. Chika claims she was a classmate with Rita Dominic at Santa Maria Primary school in Aba, Abia State.
According to the lady who expressed displeasure about the purported false age claim, “But Rita you are 43 not 40. We all grew up at Aba and we were in the same class in Santa Maria Primary School, Aba. This should have been celebrated 3yrs ago not this year my dear Rita.” Dominic is a member of the Royal Waturuocha family of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area in Imo State. She is the youngest of four siblings.
Her late parents were medical practitioners; her father was a medical doctor and her mother a nursing officer. Dominic attended the Federal Government College, Ikot Ekpene, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, before heading to the University of Port Harcourt where she graduated with a BA (Honours) degree in theatre arts in 1999.
