In the 1980s, General Muhammadu put up a formidable force against Chadian troops who occupied parts of northern Nigeria, chasing them back into their own land before seizing power in the coup that will always be a major part of his history.
Fast-forward to 2015 and the now retired General has returned to apex power as President, defeating incumbent President Jonathan.
Reuters has stated that the general, once again, 'seems determined to end Chad's presence on Nigerian soil.'
