Nollywood actor, Desmond Elliot has finally spoken up after his success at general elections, that saw him win a seat in the house of Assembly.The ex actor recently expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the election, declaring that he feel he’s a representation of the youths, a generation that wants the change the youths are clamouring for.
He also added that, he prays God would give him the strength to withstand the pressure when it comes, “because I know it’s not going to be an easy task.
It’s something I’ve been begging Him (God) for a long time and now the opportunity has come. So ,
with God’s help and hard work, we will succeed.”
The father of four also promised that, “I look forward to a successful tenure, providing social amenities best way I can for my constituency: representing them well in the house and making sure that Nollywood which is also my constituency thrives as far as Lagos State is concerned.
I will still be making films, but not as an actor because I am representing people’s interest.
I have to be very careful about what I do now,” he said.
Elliot contested for the Lagos State House Of Assembly under the All Progressives Congress,APC.
He is the only individual known in the entertainment industry to have successfully won any office contested for in Nigeria during the 2015 general elections.
