4 Ways To Reduce Employee Turnover With Social Media

4 Ways To Reduce Employee Turnover With Social Media

Getting your employees to share company stories on their social media channels provides you with some powerful retention insight and advantages. They are:
  1. Flesh out and address disengaged workers. When you roll out a plan to encourage your employees to use social media, you’ll immediately see which ones embrace it, and which ones don’t. Those that fail to engage could be telling you something - i.e. perhaps, they aren’t comfortable in their employment status enough to share it with their colleagues and friends. It could be a red flag that they are potentially unhappy in their job. Which means, it’s a chance for you and your management team to find out why.
  2. Identify and reward brand ambassadors. Those that immediately excel at promoting the company are clearly fans of you as an employer. They’re the ones you can recognize and reward for acting as brand ambassadors. The stronger the bond between your employees and their love for the company, the better.
  3. Make employee referral credit easier to get. I’m sure you have an employee referral program, but is it working? One way to make it work better is to give employees a way to share referral links and get credit for promoting your company on their social channels. The monetary incentive will make it worth the few minutes invest each week in promoting you.
  4. Remind employees they have a good employer. When you create and share great stories about your Talent Brand, those same stories designed to attract new talent also also remind your existing employees why you’re such a great place to work. Especially, when they share a post about showcasing an aspect of your company and their colleagues and friends comment back, “Sound like you have an awesome employer.” This type of positive reinforcement can help them appreciate what they’ve got!
Real Secret to Reducing Turnover….(Drum roll please!)
We know turnover is low when employees feel satisfied and engaged with their work. One of the best ways to do that is including them in the process of identifying and selecting the people they work with. By encouraging your staff to embrace and promote your Talent Brand, you not only get more qualified candidates, you get a happier, more cohesive team. It’s a two-for-the-price-of-one. Recruiting AND retention are the by product of a good employee social media strategy!
