U-23 Eagles coach, Samson Siasia, has predicted a tough group competition after Nigeria drew arch-rivals and defending champions Ghana, Egypt and Senegal in Group B of the 2015 All Africa Games billed for Congo in September.
Siasia who is preparing the team for the 2016 Olympics qualifier against Congo in Port Harcourt expressed confidence in qualifying from the group which he tagged “Group of death”.
“This is a very difficult group. Every team in this group has the potential to win the All Africa Games because it is a group of death.
“We are ready but every game in this group would be difficult. And we would approach each one like a final.
I can assure you that anyone who makes it out of this group is top favourite to win the gold.”
Nigeria, who won gold at the 1973 AAG on home soil, beat Gabon and Zambia to qualify for the tournament proper in Congo-Brazzaville from September 4. Hosts Congo, Sudan, Zimbabwe and Burkina Faso have been drawn in Group A.
