According to spokesman for the U.S. National Security Council, Ned Price, the second in command of ISIS leadership, Haji Mutazz, who also goes by the name Fadhil Ahmad al-Hayali, was killed in an August 18th US drone strike near Mosul, Iraq. The number two man, was said to be traveling in a car with another ISIS member named Abu Abdullah when their vehicle was hit.
Mutazz, who the US media falsely reported died in December 2014, was in charge of ISIS operations in Iraq and was also believed to prominently involved in directing ISIS' financial operations.
"Al-Hayali's death will adversely impact ISIL's operations given that his influence spanned ISIL's finance, media, operations, and logistics," Price said
