The Speaker, Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, has donated 60 lifejackets and cash to the families of school children who died in a boat accident at Osolu-Irewe in Ojo Local Government Area.
Obasa made the donation during a condolence visit to the Osolu of Irewe, Oba Abideen Durosimi, on the death of six school children in a boat accident in on July 2.
Obasa, represented by the Deputy Chief Whip, Hon. Omotayo Oduntan, assured the people that the state government would not relent in providing basic amenities to its citizenry.
Oba Durosimi, who spoke with our correspondent through the Odofin, Chief Ashafa Daoudu, said the lifejackets would be placed in different boxes along the jetties so that they could be used before any journey and returned on arrival.
