The Nigeria Police have said that the petition alleging forgery of the Standing Rules of the eighth Senate, was still being investigated.
This is contrary to reports that the probe has since been concluded.
The Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), Mr. Emmanuel Ojukwu, a Commissioner of Police, told New Telegraph Sunday, that the alleged forgery, was still a matter of investigation.
Responding to an enquiry via text, Ojukwu said: “We are still investigating please.”
There were reports that the Police had invited the Deputy Senate President (DSP), Ike Ekweremmadu, in respect of the alleged forgery of Senate Rules.
The Police, however, denied that they had, at any point in time, invited the DSP for questioning.
