Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Tuesday grilled wife of the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki, Mrs. Toyin Saraki, for a number of hours at the Commission’s Headquarters in Abuja.
New Telegraph gathered from sources, that the Senate President’s wife arrived the anti-graft agency’s head office at about 12:20pm, and was immediately ushered into the room, where she was still being interrogated as at the time of filing this report.
She was accompanied to the Commission’s headquarters by many Senators and House of Representatives members, including Senator Dino Melaye.
It was also gathered that members of the Kwara State House of Assembly and other supporters, besieged the premises, to show solidarity.
The Head of Media and Publicity of the Commission, Mr. Wilson Uwujaren, confirmed Mrs. Saraki’s grilling.
The EFCC is investigating Mrs. Saraki over allegations of suspicious transactions in companies she is suspected to have links.
A source, however, confided in New Telegraph, that “she will most likely be allowed to go, and may be return another day, if the crack team still needs her to provide further explanations.”
Apart from Saraki, the Commission had also summoned wife of former Kebbi State Governor, Alh. Saidu Dakingari, Mrs Zainab Dakingari, as well as erstwhile Special Adviser to former President Goodluck Jonathan on Niger Delta Affairs, Mr. Kingsley Kuku.
