The continued police siege on the Niger State House of Assembly since Tuesday has forced the Clerk, management and administrative staff of the House to idly sit under a tree in front of an hotel beside the assembly complex.
Over 200 armed policemen, agents of Department of State Security and civil defence have since Tuesday occupied the assembly complex, locking out both legislators and staff from their offices.
But police claimed that no legislator or staff of the assembly was denied access to the complex.
They claimed that their presence in the House was to protect lives and property from being damaged by vandals.
