New level for Ben 7

Surprisingly, it all began like a joke, when Olawepo Benjamin Opeyemi (aka Ben7), fancy playing instrument he sets his eyes on as a little boy; he would pick any instrument and play it endlessly. He never really saw himself as an artiste then. But today he is collaborating with American superstar, Bread Boi in the single titled, Them Know. Apart from that another work with American superstar Dr. Dre is in the pipeline. The young and versatile 19 years old act, who is very good in freestyle and singing, said a lot of people are already asking him to release the song.

“People have been asking me when will the song be released?” The latest single, Them Know is another interesting song from the multi-talented act. He stressed that his talent has brought him to this level. “With Them Know l am telling the world that l am good at what l do. And to also tell them to watch out for me,” he boasted.

The act, who is on Jebon Records label, disclosed that he started work on the song since February, 2015, he hinted that the audio of the song is ready, however his management planned to release the audio and the video simultaneously. “What is remaining now is the video. I am planning to go to America to shoot the video with Bread Boi,” he said. For Ben 7 who has released a couple of singles such as Kilode, featuring Terry G, Akorede, featuring Oritse Femi, and Leave Am Like That, said he is excited to work with Bread Boi. “The whole thing happen like a miracle,” he said. “There’s this interview where l was told to freestyle which l uploaded on my YouTube page. Bread Boi saw the work and he like it.

That is how we became friends on Twitter, we started communicating. “When l dropped Akorede video online the song was trending that was what he told me, he said it was through the Internet that he knew that the song was trending. That was how the idea of collaboration came. We have done the song, everything went on well. The song is perfect; it is a song that will shake the entire music scene. l will continue to give my fans the very best when it comes to good music,” he assures. Ben 7 reiterated that it is rare for a Nigerian act of his age to work to feature American superstars, “mostly artistes of my age it is very rare to see such in Nigeria working with American stars.

The collaboration is a blessing for me; and the song is different from what others are doing, when you listen to the song you will understand what l am talking about. You will definitely say this dude is good.” He disclosed that he intend to give his fans something to savior before he travel to America to shot Them Know video.

“I will release a single titled Zukazu before l travel. The song is a South Africa kind of song. The reason why l want to release the song is that a lot of people have listened to the song and they advised that l drop the song. Though Alaba market have pirated the song already, apologies, l don’t know how it got leaked.” While in America, Ben 7 will be performing in series of concerts. “They called me to perform in a concert in America; it is an opportunity for me to showcase my talent to the international community.

l am really excited. Everything is happening very fast. To God be the glory.” Ben 7 has trademark for titles. His songs titles definitely have something to do with things around him, and he creates something unique from it and the output is magical. “It is talent. When you have it in you, you need to let it flow.

I can’t say this is how l do it, but when l am singing it just comes out, that is what is called talent, it is not something you force yourself to create, people who know me can testify to it that when l am in the studio l do my thing my own way. l don’t think about what l want to sing, when l open my mouth the title comes out. l have a lot of songs that has not been released when you listen to the titles you will know what l am talking about.” 2020 his name will be a house hold name in Africa.
