My husband, my best friend – Lola Maja

My husband, my best friend – Lola Maja
Successful beauty therapist and beauty bar owner, Lola Maja, who has been actively involved in the makeup business for over 20 years has no doubt become a notable brand in the industry. The proud wife and mother of two, in a telephone chat with RazzleDazzle, revealed how much her husband had helped her in achieving so much in her career and how well the makeup business is paying.
“My dear, people are really getting to appreciate makeup practitioners. Makeup is now being recognised as a form of art, unlike before. TV, movies and even music see makeup as a second thought; they believe it’s just the white powder thing. They focus on the other things like camera, lighting and the actors. But today, it’s no longer so. We are now being recognised as an important part of the team, such that can add a big difference to the final project. Whether movies, music videos, documentaries or even weddings, we are being appreciated and well paid for our services.
Five years from now, the fashion and the entertainment industry will definitely blow up for the makeup industry,” she said. On her marriage to Tonio and why she’s always celebrating her family on social media, she said, “I love my family. I can celebrate them anywhere over and over again. I am proud of my children and my husband. My husband is my best friend. He is a true essence of what you call a real man.
He is my brand manager, he’s always helping me out and instructing me on how to go about my business. The best thing is that his ideas are always excellent. Without him, I probably wouldn’t have achieved this much. Our marriage is ordained by God. “My husband sees me as his celebrity wife. Most times, I’m always outside working all through the week and some weekends. My husband understands the nature of my job and so he encourages me to go on, else, I would have given up.”
The graduate of art was in the news late last year when she revealed that Wande Coal’s hit tune, ‘Bumper to Bumper,’ helped her get over the severe pain of child labour. The CEO of Sacred Beauty is also a qualified holistic massage therapist, eyebrow and eyelash specialist and beauty tutor.
