APC demands Edo PDP chair’s sack over alleged N1.5bn fraud
The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, yesterday challenged the state chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Dan Orbih, to account for the over N1.5 billion campaign funds allegedly misappropriated under during the just concluded 2015 general election in the state.
Members of the ruling APC, alleged that the sum was given to the PDP in the state by the national leadership of the party to prosecute the general election.
The state Publicity Secretary of the Party, Comrade Godwin Erhahon, who briefed journalists, alleged that Orbih, was currently being probed by the national leadership of the PDP, asking him to resign his position.
But in a swift reaction, Orbih, who spoke through the Publicity Secretary of the PDP in the state, Mr. Chris Nehikhare, described the allegations as not true and frivolous.
Orbih stated that, “the APC is just cooking up lies because we called on the EFCC to probe the finances of the Local Governments which the APC led government in the state misappropriated leading to local government workers not being paid.”
