A Palestinian was shot dead on Wednesday morning right after he stabbed and wounded an Israeli soldier near the West Bank city of Nablus, Israeli and Palestinian sources said.
An Israeli police source told Xinhua that a Palestinian young man stabbed an Israeli soldier and wounded him in his neck near the Israeli settlement of Shelo between the West Bank cities of Nablus and Ramallah.
The source said that another Israeli soldier was lightly injured, adding that other Israeli soldiers opened fire at the young man and shot him dead.
Meanwhile, a source in the Palestinian Red Crescent Society said the Israeli army informed the Palestinian side to send an ambulance and take the body of the young man that the soldiers are still holding.
It is the fourth Palestinian getting killed in the West Bank since early this year. Two Palestinians were killed near Bethlehem in January and one near Nablus on January 31.
