POLLS: Jonathan Reads Riot Act To Troublemakers

President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday morning read the Riot Act to individuals or groups who may be planning to foment trouble before, during and after the Saturday’s presidential election across the country.
He said because he was under oath to ensure security of lives and property in the country, he would not take such actions lightly.
Jonathan spoke in a nationwide broadcast aired on radio and television stations.
He said the nation’s security agencies were well prepared to forestall any possible breakdown of law and order during or after the polls.
He urged Nigerians to go out peacefully and elect the leaders of their choice during the election having in mind that the eyes of the world are on the country.
The President restated his position that no political ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian.
He said the nation under him would never give up its cherished democracy for any other form of government.
