Yobe State Governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, on Friday expressed optimism that with the current commitment of the Nigerian armed forces, Boko Haram would soon be defeated.
Gaidam stated this when he received the service chiefs led by the National Security Adviser, Maj-Gen. Babagana Monguno, during a visit to Damaturu, the state capital.
In his response, the Monguno said he led the service chiefs to the affected areas to assess the situation in line with actualising the mandate given to them by President Muhammadu Buhari. While commending the state government for caring for Internally Displaced Persons, Monguno said the war would soon be over.
He said this would enable the government to commence the rehabilitation and integration of the affected persons.
