Gunmen kill aid workers in Afghanistan   

Nine people including several aid workers have been killed in an attack by unknown gunmen in northern Afghanistan, say officials.

The attack took place in Zari district of Balkh province, police chief Abdul Razaq Qaderi told AFP news agency.

He said seven of the dead were aid workers, along with two guards. Other reports say all were aid workers.

No-one has admitted carrying out the attack – one of several on aid workers in Afghanistan recently, reports the BBC.
