The Civil Defence, Fire, Immigration and Prisons Services Board (CDFIPB) has approved the promotion of 2,749 officers and men of the Nigerian Prisons Service to various ranks.
According to statement from prisons spokesperson, DCP Francis Enobore
this was contained in a letter dated 25th May, 2015 with reference no. CDOFB/PRM/PROM/CAC/411/1/12.
He stated that the benefiting officers are those on Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure (CONPASS) 09 – 16 who passed the recently conducted promotion examination and those that were stagnated in the Inspectorate rank for several years.
Also included are junior staff who acquired additional qualifications for advancement to officers’ cadre.
The Controller General of Prisons, Dr Peter Ekpendu in his congratulatory message to the affected officers, enjoined them to work assiduously to justify their new ranks.
