There has been protest in University of Ibadan over the death of Mayowa Alaran, a 200l student of Human Kinetics(pictured above), last night, May 6. Report says he suddenly slumped while watching the champions league match between Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
He was immediately rushed to the school’s clinic, where it was reported that, Nurses declined to treat him until they see his clinic card, it was also alleged that they asked for bribe.
Mayowa later passed on in the hospital, which led to the protest. Blaming his death on the negligence and lackadaisical attitude of the health centre workers. The students are asking the school to take action as this is not the first time a student has died in the health centre due to negligence of the workers.
