In an effort to add value to the citizens, the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi, has disclosed that his administration would create two new ministries as soon as he fully takes off.
The new ministries are: Religious/Welfare Matters and Ministry of Planning, Design, Evaluation and Strategy.
He said under the Ministry of Religious/Welfare Matters, he intend to create together with the Special Adviser on Rural Health Care, a ministry which would assist health workers and spiritual leaders visiting homes to examine the people from time to time.
While the Ministry of Planning, Design, Evaluation and Strategy, would control all projects’ designs, costs rechecked, certificate of payments rechecked in line with work progress/quality and right pricing adopted.
At his inaugural address delivered by him, the governor said that he would run all inclusive government and urged all Ebonyians to join him irrespective of political party differences to move the state forward.
According to him, the dwindling revenues and unprecedented high debt profile,he his challenged to bring forward creative and intelligent ways of running a very smart government.
He added that with the abysmal internally generated revenue and inherited liabilities, running into billions of naira, left behind by the immediate past administration, has placed a huge burden specially,accumulated unpaid salaries of civil servants, both at the state and that of local government levels.
