Manchester United-bound Depay finishes as Eredivisie's top scorer

The PSV attacker, who has agreed to move to Old Trafford this summer, finished two clear of PSV Eindhoven team-mate Luuk de Jong at the summit of the standings

Manchester United-bound winger Memphis Depay has brought the curtain down on his PSV career by finishing as the Eredvisie's top scorer for the 2014-15 campaign.

The Netherlands international, who will move to Old Trafford this summer, failed to add to his tally of 22 goals on the final day of season, though he did tee up team-mate Luuk de Jong for a goal in Sunday's 3-2 win at Den Haag.

However, even with that strike, former Newcastle United forward De Jong still finished two goals behind Depay in the battle for the top scorer award.

Depay's achievement is made all the more remarkable for the fact that he only struck 17 times in his three previous seasons in the Eredivisie.

However, the 21-year-old's development into a free-scoring forward played a massive role in PSV finishing 17 points clear of reigning champions Ajax to claim their first Dutch title since 2008.

Elsewhere, Michael de Leeuw hit a sensational hat-trick in his side's dramatic 5-4 win at NAC to claim a share of third place alongside Den Haag attacker Michiel Kramer, with the pair ending with 17 goals apiece, while Mark Uth came home fifth, after netting 15 times for Heerenveen.
