How Nigerians can help Buhari - Otubu
President Muhammadu Buhari will succeed if Nigerians pray hard for him and support initiatives meant at delivering dividends of democracy, The General Evangelist of Motailatu Church Cherubim & Seraphim Worldwide (MCCSW), Elder (Prof.) Joseph Otubu, has declared. Otubu said no administration can deliver without the prayers and cooperation of the governed.
The cleric, who spoke with reporters in Abuja, said: “This government is our government. We have a responsibility to make sure it succeeds through prayers and cooperation.
“We have to hold it accountable and support every initiative designed to take the nation out of the wood.
We cannot afford to play dirty politics or opposition without fairness.” He called on Nigerians to be prepared to do things differently. This commitment to doing things differently, he explained, is what will bring the best out of the current administration.
“We cannot continue the same thing and expect different results. To change what we have been experiencing, we have to do things differently. “When this new government begins to make demands from us, we must not hesitate to offer it because that is what will guarantee the change we have been clamouring for.”
While congratulating Buhari on his inauguration, Otubu, a renowned gynecologist, asked him to justify the confidence reposed in him.
“Nigerians trust this new President and I challenge him to stop at nothing to fix the nation. He must deliver good governance so much so that when it is time for another election, we would be the ones begging him to contest again.”
He, however, pleaded for patience with the new administration, saying it will take a while before the changes become evident in all sectors of the nation.
