PHOTOS: Jealous Boyfriend Stabs Girlfriend Cause A Man Smiled At Her

A man was arrested, charged and convicted of attempted murder after stabbing his girlfriend because a man smiled at her, prosecutors in the United Kingdom said.

The Kingston-upon-Thames Crown Court heard that 28-year-old Amish Kansagra, opened a massage parlor with his girlfriend, 35-year-old Anna Imporowicz.

However, Kansagra was jealous of the attention his girlfriend received from other men. The day before the attempted murder, Kansagra became angry when a man smiled at Imporowicz in a club.

Kansagra armed himself with a knife and went to the home he shared with his girlfriend on Clitherow Road in Brentford. When he saw Imporowicz, he stabbed her with the knife.

Imporowicz tried to flee from the home, but was held back by the defendant. Luckily, she managed to escape through a window and a nurse came to her aid.

Kansagra fled from the scene and drove to Manchester, but he came back and surrendered to the police. Kansagra first met his girlfriend while he was working at a bank.

He quit his job at the bank and opened the massage parlor with her on South Ealing Road, but their relationship ended the day before the stabbing.

Kansagra was convicted of one count of attempted murder.

Before the trial began, Kansagra pleaded guilty to causing criminal damage, possessing a bladed article and inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent.
