APC will not congratulate A’Ibom gov-elect

The All Progressives Congress, Akwa Ibom State chapter, has warned against the plan by the Peoples Democratic Party to use some faceless individuals as the party’s local government chairmen to congratulate the Governor-elect, Mr. Udom Emmanuel, of the PDP.

The state chairman of the APC in Akwa Ibom, Dr. Amadu Attai, explained that part of the plan by the PDP was to use the impostors to address a press conference purporting to congratulate Emmanuel as the winner of the governorship election in the state.

The statement read, “The APC wishes to inform the good people of Akwa Ibom State that these people who have been hired by the PDP to congratulate Udom Emmanuel are not and have never been members of the APC.

“They are criminal impostors, jesters, charlatans and political prostitutes. As a political party, the APC insists that the governorship election of April 11 in Akwa Ibom State was totally flawed and well rigged by the PDP and Independence National Electoral Commission.

“Our governorship candidate, Mr. Umana Umana, and the APC are heading to the tribunal to challenge the election this week. We have collected and gathered evidence to upturn the shambolic election in which over 50 Akwa Ibom people were killed.

“Once again, the APC and all candidates of the party wish to thank the good people of Akwa Ibom State for their support and prayers. Please, remain calm and law abiding as we will soon collect our stolen mandate from the cabal.”

Meanwhile, 17 local government chairmen, led by the chairman of the APC in Essien Udim LGA, Mr. Monday Jackson, held a press conference to congratulate Emmanuel for the sake of peace in the state.

Jackson stated that all the chairmen were still authentic members of the APC in Akwa Ibom State.
