Hon. Farouk Adamu Aliyu, former member of the House of Reps has alleged that President Goodluck Jonathan is a Boko Haram collaborator who is not interested in tackling the insurgency.
The Honourable, who made these claims in an interview with Sahara Reporters published on August 27, 2014, said that there are two Boko Harams, the visible one led be Abubakar Shakau, and the invisible one led by Goodluck Jonathan.
When asked why he feels the government is part of Boko Haram, Hon Aliyu recalled when President Jonathan said there were members of Boko Haram in his cabinet and queried why the president had not handed over the alleged Boko Haram collaborators in his cabinet to the police.
Aliyu also wondered why no single individual had been prosecuted for been linked with the sect since the escalation of the insurgency.
Aliyu added that the degrading condition the Nigerian soldiers indicate that the Jonathan administration was unserious about tackling the insurgency.
On the missing Chibok girls, Aliyu said the government was doing much talking but less action. He described Nigerian soldiers as a force which would rather inflict injury on hapless citizens than fight Boko Haram members.
The 6 year Boko Haram insurgency has claimed approximately 15,000 lives in Nigeria, however the Nigerian Army in recent times has recorded a string of victories against the sect due to efforts being boosted by support from a multinational force which includes troops from Chad, Niger and Cameroon.
