Egypt pulls out of AAG football

The Egyptian Football Association has announced that its men and women’s teams will not take part in the All African Game in Brazzaville this year.
The Egypt men’s Olympic team qualified to the football event and have been drawn in same group with Nigeria, Ghana and Senegal, while their women’s team are in same group with Cameroon, Ghana and South Africa.
Sources in the Egypt FA revealed to supersport.com that the men’s team head coach Hossam El Badry refused to participate in this tournament due to poor preparation.
EFA board member Hamda Al Masry said: “The tournament will be in September and there are a lot of matches for Egyptian national teams. The senior team will play against Chad and they will call many of the Olympic team players. It is the same for the Egyptian teams Al Ahly and Zamalek. They will play the last match in the group stage of the Caf Confederation Cup and are not ready to part with any of their players to leave.”
“There will not be enough players to prepare, add to that the foreign-based players will not be able to attend so we decided not to participate. We now plan for the Under-23 African Championship that will be in Senegal.”
The football tournament of the AAG will be held from September 6 to 18, 2015 in Brazzaville, Congo.
CAF has confirmed the withdrawal of the Egyptians from the football event of the All Africa Games.
