Zakari: PDP moves against Deputy National Publicity Secretary

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) may suspend its Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji ‎Abudullahi Jalo for a statement credited to him on the appointment of Mrs. Amina Zakari as acting Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Olisa Metuh, had in a statement on Saturday said the party’s National Working Committee (NWC), at its 403 meeting resolved to reject Mrs. Zakari’s appointment, “despite unwarranted attacks on its officials by the Presidency.”‎
But Jalo, who allegedly spoke to a national newspaper, reportedly said the statement was the opinion of Metuh and not that of PDP.
In a letter dated July 8, 2015 and signed by National Secretary, Professor Wale Oladipo, PDP NWC asked Jalo to appear before it next Wednesday to what it termed “unguarded utterances in some Nigerian newspapers.”
‎The letter titled: ‘‎Zakari’s Appointment: Jalo Dissociates PDP From Mutuh’s Commentary’, the NWC said: “Its attention has been brought to your recent unguarded utterances in some of the Nigerian wewspapers.
“The NWC has therefore ‎requested you to appear at its meeting for preliminary investigation on the charge of bringing the party into disrepute among others.”
Professor Oladipo said the invitation was a resolution at the 404th NWC meeting.
