Reports reaching DGossip247 indicate that Monday’s fence mending meeting between President Muhammadu Buhari and House of Representatives members elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has hit the rocks.
The House of Reps members are billed to resume session on Tuesday after they adjourned proceedings three weeks ago following their inability to agree on the appointment of principal officers for the 8th Assembly.
The President’s meeting with the lawmakers was expected to broker a truce between the warring factions but it reportedly has ended deadlocked after it failed to resolve the crisis that has pitched the supporters of Speaker Yakubu Dogara and Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila against one another.
After defying the party directive to concede the Speakership position to Rep from Lagos State, the APC then instructed their House members to vote Gbajabiamila as Leader, which the Speaker appears reluctant to do.
