Group likens Tinubu to Awolowo, Yar ‘Adua
A group in Ekiti State, the Leadership Advancement Platform (LEAP) has likened former Lagos State Governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu to the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo and former Chief of Staff, Supreme Headquarters, Gen. Sheu Yar ‘Adua in the political development of the country.
The group said the All Progressives Congress (APC) stalwart has also proven to be adept in building political bridges across the country and discovering new political stars that are making waves nationwide.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti yesterday, which was signed by its President, Hon. Ayo Boluwade and the Publicity Secretary, Mr. Femi David, LEAP said Tinubu had contributed to the development of many emerging leaders across the country, adding that the views of such a personality deserved more attention than any other individual or group in the current political dispensation in Nigeria.
“Tinubu has developed many people across the country in their various professions through his personal wherewithal and also empowered many others politically.
The selfless service and patriotism of the APC national leader also manifested during the last general elections when the opposition defeated the incumbent and the ruling Peoples Democratic Party for the first in Nigeria’s history.
“The efforts put together to build APC must not also be expended on how to pull it down, hence leaders of the party must be wary of any power play that could affect the party negatively.
“Party supremacy needs to be respected at all times and views of party leaders must also be regarded as sacred at the same time for President Muhammadu Buhari to succeed.
“President Buhari has so far displayed to Nigerians that his administration was put in place for all and the demonstration of such can be seen in the recent appointment of service chiefs where an Ekiti indigene Maj.-Gen. Abayomi Olonishakin, was appointment as the Chief of Defence Staff in Nigeria for the first time.”
