- As court rules 22 local govt elections illegal
Reports reaching New Telegraph indicate that a Federal High Court in the Rivers State capital, Port Harcourt has been rocked by an explosion which occurred outside its premises.
According to reports, the blast occurred near the court on Thursday morning.
Although reports are still sketchy, it was learnt that security personnel have swooped on the area.
However, before the blast occurred, the Presiding judge, Justice Lambo Akonbi had dissolved 22 local government councils in the state saying that the decision of the former administration of Rotimi Amaechi to go ahead with the council elections despite a court order asking all parties to maintain status quo was a flagrant abuse of court process and disregard for rule of law.
