Ebonyi, Malaysia to partner on trade investment

Ebonyi, Malaysia to partner on trade investment
Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Dave Umahi, has reiterated his administration’s readiness to collaborate with Malaysia Government in business. Umahi, who noted it’s ironic that Malaysia had thrived in agriculture, especially palm oil through seedlings which they got from Nigeria, said his administration was ready to collaborate with the Asian giant. A statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emma Anya, quoted Umahi as saying the country was also into manufacturing not undermining agriculture including rice production.
“I recalled when my predecessor went to Malaysia and purchased some light agriculture equipment for our farmers and those equipment are being cleared at the wharf. Very soon, I will contact you to request those companies to come down to Ebonyi State to fix those equipment for our farmers,” he said. Responding, Malaysia’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Lim Juay Jin, said Malaysia was also interested in investing in electronics products, machines, spares parts.
