Saraki donates N3m to Ilorin mayhem victims, demands justice

A former Governor of Kwara State, Dr. Bukola Saraki, on Tuesday said the recent Ilorin mayhem was caused by “acrimony and animosity” of some miscreants.
Three people died while property worth millions of naira were razed, destroyed or damaged during the mayhem on penultimate Friday at Agbarere and Ita-Ajia areas of Ilorin, Kwara State.
No fewer than 140 suspects were arrested in connection with the fracas.
Saraki, who is currently the Chairman, Senate Committee on Ecology and Environment, spoke when he  donated N3m to some victims, whose houses were razed during the disturbances.
He noted that the mayhem had unleashed untold hardship on the victims.
He warned the perpetrators to be ready to face justice, adding  that the government would continue to prioritise the well being of the people of the state.
The Senator, who was represented by a team of the Mandate campaign office, led by Alhaji Oba Olabintan, also rendered financial assistance to the Magaji-Are of Ilorin, Alh. Aremu Subair, whose vehicle was also vandalised by the hoodlums.
