The Spurs striker has scored 19 Premier League goals in his first full campaign in the top flight, and his boss feels he should be handed the end-of-season prizeTottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has backed Harry Kane to win the PFA Player of the Year award ahead of Chelsea's Eden Hazard .

The England international was named on the six-man shortlist for the prize alongside Diego Costa, David De Gea, Philippe Coutinho, Alexis Sanchez and Hazard as well as being listed among the Young Player of the Year nominees.

The 21-year-old has scored 19 Premier League goals this term, and Pochettino feels the impact he has had on the English game makes him deserving of recognition.

"Hazard is a very good player, he’s fantastic. But the impact that Harry has had on English football is massive," he told reporters.

"Everyone knew that Hazard is a brilliant player but I think not too many people expected that Harry Kane would show the performances that he has. This is the difference."

The winner of the award will be announced on April 26.
