GIGGS WILL BE MY SUCCESSOR AT MAN UTD — VAN GAAL


Louis van Gaal believes Ryan Giggs will be named as his successor when he eventually run out of his own contract as Manchester United’s head coach.The Dutch boss is few games clos to the end of his first season in charge of the Old Trafford outfit but has until 2017 before seeing out his contract.

Club legend Giggs was in charge of the side for four matches last season following the dismissal of David Moyes. He was later appointed as assistant to the former Ajax and Barcelona manager in May.

He won two drew one and lost one of the matches played by the club under his stewardship as caretaker coach.

“I expect that he wil be the next manager after I am gone,” he told MUTV, when asked about his Welsh protégée.

He added: “Now I have the responsibility. He has tasks that he has to perform like the players. What he has to do, for me, he does it very well.”

Giggs made a record 963 appearance for United between 1990 and 2014, lifting 13 Premier League titles, four FA Cup and two Champions League winner’s medal.
