The Chairman, Ohaneze Ndigbo in Amuwo Odofin local government area, Chief Akalika Emmanuel, has stated the reasons why Igbos in Lagos sheathed their swords following threats to their lives and properties by Oba Rilwan Akiolu of Lagos if they failed to vote his candidate in yesterday's gubernatorial elections, Vanguard reports.
According to him, the intervention of the president elect, General Muhammadu Buhari, and opinion leaders from Igbo and Yoruba land, their love for Lagos State, as well as their maturity and willingness to be each other brothers’ keepers were the reasons they decided not to return fire for fire.

Nevertheless, he demanded an apology and a documentary prove that such threat from Akiolu would not repeat itself be made available, adding that the property of Ndi -Igbo would not be unduly taxed nor demolished , no matter the direction of the victory o f yesterday’s governorship election.
