Following the distasteful comments made by the Oba of Lagos, all ears have pricked up in anticipation of Nigeria's most important men, the president (Goodluck Jonathan) and the president-elect (General Muhammadu Buhari.)
Threatening an entire tribe is bad enough. Threatening a tribe that was once hunted down and killed mercilessly in Nigeria's recent history is even worse. Threatening them for political purposes ('if you go against my candidate, Ambode') is an outrage.
As at the time of this report, 24 hours after Oba Akiolu said the igbos would meet their end at the Lagos Lagoon if they went against his candidate, there has been no statement from either General Muhammadu Buhari or President Jonathan.
