Mourinho Blocked Mikel’s Exit To Besiktas, Says Mesrun Izzet

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho blocked John Obi-Mikel’s exit to Besiktas in the closing stages of the summer transfer window, according to Turkish football agent Mesrun Izzet.

Izzet, who claims he was involved in the deal to take Mikel to Turkey from Stamford Bridge, says the the transfer fell through after the Premier League champions failed to bring Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba to the club.
“Besiktas had initially agreed terms with Chelsea and Mikel but Mourinho blocked the deal at the last minute,” he told Turkish radio station ‘Radyospor’.
