AFCON 2017: Eagles Roost At Regency Hotel For Tanzania Match

Nigeria’s 2017 Nations Cup qualification contingent arrived Tanzania with a 102-strong team at 12am Tanzania time (10pm Nigeria time) for this weekend’s clash with the hosts.

Even as stand in skipper, Ahmed Musa insisted nothing but victory would be good enough on Saturday when Nigeria meets Tanzania, which will be Sunday Oliseh’s first game in charge since taking over from Stephen Keshi as Eagles coach.
Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) officials are staying at New Africa Hotel in Dar es Salaam; while the players are staying at the posh Hyatt Regency Hotel, Kilimanjaro.

Meanwhile, speaking to supersport.com on arrival in Dar es Salam, Oliseh acknowledged that he expected a tough game from the Tanzanians whom he described as a good side but in the same breath pointed out that they had come for the three points.

“I am delighted to be in Tanzania the game on Saturday will be my first competitive match and as a coach you want nothing short of victory but that is not to say it will be a walk in the park since our opponents have been training together for a long time”

“I expect a tough and tight game from the Tanzanians but we have to work hard as a team to maintain the traditions of Nigeria that’s why this match will be really important to us as it will determine how we move to the next step” Oliseh told supersport.com as the team rather tired from the long trip departed to their hotel.

Asked about the absence of John Obi Mikel coach Oliseh tactically avoided the question instead responding that he had brought with him a very good side that could deliver anywhere.
