Persons with disabilities in Delta State have asked Governor Ifeanyi Okowa to create a ministry for them and also consider them during his appointment selections.
They made the demands during a visit to the state Assembly’s Deputy Speaker, Mr. Friday Osanebi.
Leader of the delegation, Mr. Lucky Nwamaka, said apart from visiting to congratulate the Deputy Speaker, they also sought his help to take their requests to Governor Okowa.
He said:
“We want a ministry that will be in charge of our affairs and the governor should be reminded that we voted for him and he should remember us as he makes appointments.”Promising to take their request to the governor, Osanebi said they were in the plans of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP-led government of the state.
He added:
“Be confident in yourselves and never forget that there are innate abilities and potentials in you, which you must develop."
