Aides of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Chief Timipre Sylva, at the weekend, slammed Chief D. S. P. Alamieyeseigha, a former governor of the state, over his open endorsement of Governor Seriake Dickson and his poor rating of the six years administration of his predecessor, declaring that such poor rating is biased and was influenced by corruption. Most of the Sylva’s aides, while reacting to a report credited to Alamieyeseigha, declaring that the six years of Timipre Sylva’s administration in the state was a setback and endorsed the second term bid of Governor Seriake Dickson, said the position of the former governor was a show of shame and bias.
Protocol Officer to the former governor, Chief Timipre Sylva, in a statement made available to New Telegraph yesterday, said the claim by Alamieyeseigha is wrong and misplaced. He said: “Sylva never abandoned any project; the judiciary complex started by Goodluck Jonathan and the banquet hall in the Government House as well as the new Governor’s Lodge in Creek Haven, was completed by Sylva. He bought brand new gas turbines which the present government has failed to maintain.
