A bomb went off on the outskirts of Maiduguri, the Borno State capital around midday on Monday, a military source said.
The city is the birthplace of Islamist jihadi sect Boko Haram, notes Reuters.
If confirmed this will mark the continued upsurge of bomb attacks by the group in recent times.
