Super Eagles full-back Juwon Oshaniwa will arrive in Scotland later this week to sign for Hearts after securing his visa to travel from Nigeria.
The 24-year-old collected his passport and documents in Abuja on Tuesday morning and is now preparing to fly to Edinburgh.
Hearts are eager to have Oshaniwa signed and registered ahead of the new season after he was granted a UK work permit earlier this month. But the former Israel-based player has been stuck in Nigeria for more than two weeks awaiting confirmation of his visa, which now appears to have arrived.
Oshaniwa told Scottish newspaper, ‘The Evening News': “I already picked the passport up from the embassy and visa is issued.”
He will now prepare to head to Scotland, where he will sign a long-term contract with Hearts, who start their season on Thursday with a League Cup clash against Scottish League 2 side, Arbroath.
