I’m alive, Jonathan’s ex-CSO tells Nigerians

Amid troubling rumours of the possible death in custody of former Chief Security Officer (CSO) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Mr. Gordon Obuah, the Department of State Services (DSS), Tuesday at its national headquarters in Abuja, presented the security officer before journalists.
Consequently, Obuah, who was not allowed to answer questions, dispelled rumours of his demise, saying there has been  no adverse situation since he was taken into custody.
Obuah maintained that he is healthy and remains a staff of the DSS.
He said having completed his duties as Jonathan’s former CSO, the Service wants him to give account of his outing.
The ex-CSO, who was calm throughout the brief period of the briefing, gave the assurance that the DSS, which he belongs, is a responsible organisation.
Hear him: “Let me use this opportunity to thank all Nigerians and members of my family, who have expressed serious concerns for the past six days, because of the prevailing situation between I and my office.
“This morning, my attention was drawn to the fact that I had died in detention. This has caused very serious anxiety within the polity.
“I’m healthy; I’m the staff of the DSS, and having completed my services to the past President, the Service feels that I should give account of my service.
“So far, there is no adverse situation, and I’m optimistic that Nigerians will be availed the outcome of the situation.
“Nigerians should be assured that the DSS is a very responsible service, and I believe that nothing adverse will be done to my person, since I’m a member of the SSS and I’m still in service; and I have limitations on addressing the press.”.
The DSS has yet to announce a replacement to its former spokesperson, Ms Marilyn Ogar.
