My bad experience is now a sweet tale, Jedidah

Jedidah David, better known as The Minstrelle is a London-based Nigerian gospel artiste, actress and author. She has turned an ugly situation into a sweet tale. In a chat with DGossip247, she took us through memory lane, on the good, bad and ugly sides of her experience in the entertainment industry in the United Kingdom
Tell us your experience in entertainment?
I started my journey into the entertainment industry with gospel music, which paved the way for me to be recognised by Nollywood United Kingdom based producers. And applying my business management skills and pursuing my long time ambition and passion, which is to put smiles on people’s face and joy to the heart, I started working as movie set production manager and same time making my music, delivering praise and worship sections in various churches in United Kingdom Kindly take us through the good, bad and ugly side as you walk through the rough sides to where you are in the industry today? The amazing good side of being in the entertainment industry United Kingdom is that, you will always have a place to start.
Especially, with the motivations and facilities that are accessible to you, it will always push you to keep going especially when you have good people around you. The bad side is mainly the funding and bad competition. Funding is the biggest factor in project life cycle and in UK, ninetyfive percent of the funds that will go into the project will be coming from your pocket and that affects your sustainability before, during and after the project.
You will only break through, if you are lucky to come across a production company that is willing to collaborate with you and chip in or go on payment plan on your behalf.. Bad competition comes in when a potential sponsor comes around to demand maximum profit, also when others, especially females, goes behind you to offer more than maximum profit percentage to sponsors or even producers, promoters for them to be prioritized. Ugly and scary moments takes over when you are working hard to deliver a master piece work to demonstrate your talent and someone comes in to tell you that you are not good enough; not pretty as much, too tall and even to short, trying to bring down my morale. But I’m over it now by surrounding myself with the right people with good mind that believes in me.
Which areas are you experienced in, and which are the shows, movies and albums you have been credited with?
My experiences are in song writing and I am a singer with an album titled ‘Message’. We have done another one and the music title is ‘Circulate’. It is a remix by Double Bangz featuring Awilo Longomba I am also into movie production behind the scene as script writer, story developer, production manager and actors coach. I am also an author. My books include ‘The Blame Game’ and ‘Grace’ and will be launching Both in UK this year. As an actress I have stared in Shameful Deceit, 18Carat Mama, Broken Cross, Blood Type, Captivated, Home Abroad, Here and Now, Housewives and Girlfriends and Invasion 1897
Where are you presently in your chosen career?
I can proudly say I’m in heaven since two months ago when I stumbled into Alfred Ani, the CEO of Nnagbo Production UK & Nollywooduk. Net that specializes in video production for both music and movies, working with together nasalonetv.com. After sharing my story with him and how thing are going quiet then he said to me, ‘You are what you are, you can only be bad but my team will be there to make you better.’ And since then things started getting better more than I anticipated, so many calls started coming in, I started getting fans home and abroad, people sending me mails and congratulating my existence, it was just like the heaven opened for me and it’s time to shine And the amazing part of all is that, I’m not just a client but also part of the team. Now we have production lined up even in Nigeria. Now I can h a n d l e cameras, e d i t video; just the basic at the m o – ment
