The National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Friday again failed to conclude its meeting started on Thursday. No official reason was adduced for the inconclusion of the meeting.
The NWC meeting that started on Thursday, according to a source was to review the position of the party as it affects the National Assembly.
The NWC had been divided over the emergence of Senator Bukola Saraki and Hon. Yakubu Dogara as Senate President and Speaker, House of Representatives respectively. Also, they are divided over the procedure for the election of other Principal Officers.
Also, the NWC members are reviewing the role played by individual members on the elections of the National Assembly leadership.
After the election of the National Assembly members, NWC members were thrown into division with allegations of compromise against each other.
The party in trying to resolve the differences held its first meeting after the crisis on Thursday. But the meeting continued Friday but could not be concluded.
According to insider at the meeting, issues of the party position on the other principal officers of the Assembly.
Other issues being discussed at the meeting are: Oyegun recognizing Senator Saraki and Hon. Dogara’s election and ministerial nominees.
An NWC member stated that there wouldn’t be comment on the meeting yet since the members have not resolved on the issues before them.
Those who attended the meeting were the National Chairman, Deputy National Chairmen (South and North) National Secretary, National Organising Secretary, National Publicity Secretary, National Treasurer, other national officers and National Vice Chairmen zones.
