Nigeria price remain the same as MultiChoice slashes price in Keny

Kenyans have been able to convince MultiChoice to slash their decoder prices as Kenya’s MultiChoice has reduced the price of its DStv HD decoder to 2,499 from 4,800 Kenyan Shilling (KES).

According to TechCabal, it was stated that the reduction will enable more Kenyans have access to a better quality television viewing.

MultiChoice Kenya manager, Walingo Chiruyi, said the HD decoder will be sold with a one month DStv Access subscription which offers 50 channels of movies, news, general entertainment and their likes.

“DStv Access offers 50 channels of general entertainment, movies, documentaries, news, children’s programming, music, religion and sport; this is a once-in-a-lifetime offer.” he said

But with this present reduction in Kenya, we can only wonder if such reduction will also come to Nigeria.

As at March 3, Multichoice announced that it will increase its subscriptions fees for all its bouquets by 20 per cent with effect from 1 April. On April 2, a court ruled against the act, asking Multichoice to revert the fee back to its former fee but to the dismay of many subscribers, Multichoice didn’t follow the order.

But with this happening in Kenya, maybe we can hope such will also happen in Nigeria.
