Jonathan Akpoborie Says Super Eagles Need A Foreign Coach
Former Super Eagles striker, Jonathan Akpoborie has charged the Nigeria Football Federation to hire a foreign coach to handle the nation's senior national team.
He said this following the Daniel Amokachi led side were unfortunate to lose to the Cranes of Uganda in an international friendly played at the main bowl of the Uyo International stadium on Wednesday night.
The former Wolfsburg of Germany striker explained that the display of the team was unacceptable even as it remains a clear indication that an indigenous coach cannot handle the Eagles.
“The Ugandans were not as talented as out footballers but they were well organized; they knew well what they had to do and they had a game plan and that’s why they won the game”
Nigeria played like street boys; we played without a plan. We need an European coach; I know many people have been clamoring for our indigenous coaches but we just don’t have it”
“Maybe out coaches at the youth level can do very well but at the senior level right now, we can’t. It is very clear right now but if anybody says otherwise, then they don’t understand football” football live
